Pathophysiology

Lymphedema is caused by improper lymph transport which leads to impaired lymphatic drainage. This not only causes an accumulation of lymphatic fluid, however it also affects several cellular and molecular mechanisms. It is highly important to gain a deeper understanding of the pathophysiology of lymphedema to improve therapies.

Cellular

How does lymphedema affect the organs, the tissues and cells in the body?

Molecular

What molecules and molecular pathways are affected during lymphedema?
