The team Impacteers consists of 8 undergraduate students each participating in the Interdisciplinary, Mentorship, Practice, Applied, Community Transformative (IMPACT) initiative course offered by McMaster University. The IMPACT initiative aims to connect undergraduate and graduate students from a variety of degrees including Engineering, Biology/Science, Occupational Therapy, and Medicine, McMaster Alumni, Community Healthcare Partners, and volunteer clients to focus on understanding, appreciating, and addressing the challenges experienced by both individuals living with disabilities and the aging population (1). The team Impacteers explored the clinical condition known as chronic lymphedema with the goal of producing a knowledge mobilization resource, this website, "The Impacteers" that would provide a better understanding on perspectives, experiences and needs in a way that brings people together, unified by a common cause.
